Australia represented in Shanghai with an unusual pavilion

The Australian Pavilion on Expo Shanghai 2010

As a whole, the pavilion and its programs will respond to the expo's 'Better City, Better Life' theme by focusing on Australia's cities - many consistently ranked as among the world's most liveable - and our smart solutions for urban living.

The Australian pavilion is located at the heart of the 5.28 square kilometre expo site, on the banks of the Huangpu River in downtown Shanghai. Australia is one of more than 180 nations taking part in the expo.

Australia's cities are consistently rated amongst the most liveable in the world. The combination of smart urban planning and clever design and technologies helps create a sustainable harmony between the built and natural environments, and our world-class cultural, education and research facilities stimulate creativity and innovation. Our lifestyle successfully balances hard work and achievement with sophisticated leisure and relaxation opportunities.

Inside the pavilion a combination of static and dynamic exhibits will entertain, educate and engage visitors in three distinct but inter-related "acts":
                                              ACT 1 - JOURNEY
                                              ACT 2 - DISCOVER
                                              ACT 3 - ENJOY
